The World is Our Neighborhood Center for Peace and Understanding in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota
The World is Our Neighborhood is creating the TWION Center for Peace and Understanding in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Restoring and adaptively repurposing a historic church and a historic hotel in the iconic city of Sleepy Eye, TWION is developing the Center to help the underserved members of the community in a variety of ways.
As with other projects, TWION teams up with like-minded people and groups to create the change we would like to see in the world. In this case, the TWION Center is serving the poor, elderly and mentally, physically and situationally challenged residents of rural Minnesota.
The TWION Center will be a place for transitional housing as well as employment, therapies, day care and other services that will be administered by cooperating agencies and groups. In addtion, the TWION Center will provide a venue for art and entertainment and lectures, talks and films to engage the entire community.
